This is on the site for the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural
Resources Conservation Center (NRCC). It contains a downloadable version
of the Soil Taxonomy (Soil Survey Staff 1999) with maps and photographs,
and lots of other useful information on soils.

a useful glossary of soil science terms.
