  3. Access the IUCN’s redlist website – http://www.redlist.org. Go to Summary Statistics. Go to Table 5.
    (a) Which country has the most number of threatened mammal species?

    (b) Which country has the most number of threatened bird species. Calculate the total     number of threatened species in each continent.

    (c) Which continent has the highest number of threatened species and which has the     lowest number?


  4. Obtain a copy of the following paper: Jackson, S. T., Futyma, R. P., and Wilcox, D. A.  (1988) A paleoecological test of a classic hydrosere in the Lake Michigan dunes  Ecology 69, 928–36.
